Layziehound Coka was born on November 18th 1982. He was raised in Zululand in a town  called Bilanyoni. He attended primary school at Bilanyoni Primary School, then moved Inkamana a Catholic High School in Vryheid in 1995. He  graduated high school at Sinethemba Agricultural and Technical High School from 1996- 2000. He also attended Boksburg College in 2002, then went on to Pretoria Technikon in 2003 where he studied engineering. From 2005 to 2007 he attended Artist Proof Studio.

Layzie has participated in a number of group exhibitions and a few solo exhibitions. He has also exhibited in public and private spaces in commercial galleries. Before he’s training at Artist Proof Studios, he was taught drawing in his private studio

His largest exhibition to date was a solo hosted at The Peech Hotel in Melrose, Johannesburg in 2010. It was titled “LYRICAL SENSE AND SOUNDS OF PHILOSOPHY” followed by “DO WHAT YOU LOVE AND LOVE WHAT YOU DO” which was then hosted by the Unity Gallery, Johannesburg 2010.

Layziehound has shown his versatility and ability by  creating striking and different artworks. His specialisation is in  charcoal, pastel and oil on canvas. Lazy has started amassing a following of local and international collectors and has been hailed as one to watch. It goes without saying that layzie has an exciting career ahead of him. His work will be synonymous in time with before people saying ‘I wish I bought he’s works back then!’’.
